Your Advocate: Meet Your IEP Coach

Guidance from someone who’s been there.

Hi, I’m Maggie Cerria—a Maryland State Certified Special Educator and the founder of Family IEP Coach. With years of experience providing educational consulting services to elementary-aged students in public schools, I understand how challenging the IEP process can be for families, and I am here to help.

I created Family IEP Coach to empower families and provide them with IEP process guidance, ensuring they feel informed—not intimidated—throughout their special education advocacy journey. I believe every child deserves the right support, and every parent deserves to feel confident advocating for it.

You probably noticed a lemon in my logo. There’s a reason for that. In my classroom, the lemon has always stood for optimism, resilience, and the belief that we can face challenges with clarity and courage. It’s a small symbol, but one that reminds me—and now the families I work with—that even in uncertain moments, there’s always a way forward and a reason to stay hopeful.

Together, we can make sure your child gets the special education support they need to grow, thrive, and feel seen at school. I am committed to student advocacy, ensuring every child receives the education they deserve.
